A big delegation of India members attended UITP World Congress & Exhibition at Milan, Italy. India led the largest delegation of 55 members at UITP World Congress & Exhibition till date.

There were members from various organizations across India including ASRTU, GSRTC, BMTC, DMRC, DIMTS, UPSRTC, BMC, MSRTC, BEST, NVMC, KDMC, TSTC, UTC, KeSRTC and other members.

The congress was very big success with more than 2,200 registered delegates from 82 countries, 203 Press registrations from 42 countries, 284 exhibitors from 38 countries and more than 15,000 exhibition visitors. The congress sessions were organized on key topics - financing; the arrival of new mobility services; infrastructure needs in smart and growing cities; the impact on cities of new vehicle and IT technologies and focusing on customer service.

The session on “Integrated efforts for the development of Public Transport in India” was organized on the increasing urbanization in the country and efforts of different transport agencies to tackle the growing demand. The session was chaired by Mr. Pankaj Kumar, Vice President – Association of State Road Transport Undertaking (ASRTU) and CMD – Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC).
