Shenzhen Bus Group the state owned bus operator in Shenzhen China visited India. Founded in 1975, Shenzhen Bus Group Company Ltd is mainly engaged in public transportation, including city bus, customized bus, parade rental, intercity passenger transportation, taxi services, campus bus, car rental, cross-border passenger and cargo transportation and bus advertising in Shenzhen and Hong Kong. Shenzhen Bus Group boasts of many firsts, it started electrification of its bus fleet way back in 2008 and has achieved 100% electrification in its fleet of 6000+ buses..
A group delegation of 6 visited India between 23rd-26th April 2019 led by the president of the supervisory board Mr Lin Zujie. In Delhi they were hosted by the Road Transport Division of Delhi Integrated Multimodal Transit System Ltd (DIMTS) led by Mr C K Goyal (Vice President) and facilitated by UITP India.
The delegation group interacted with Hon’ble Transport Minister of Delhi Mr Kailash Gehlot and team of DIMTS wherein the team from minister’s office and team of DIMTS welcomed them to India. Both sides gave introduction about their company and functioning. Shenzhen Bus Group mentioned that their purpose of visit to India is to explore opportunities of expanding their operations at global level, to have first-hand experience of public transportation in the city of Delhi and Mumbai, to share knowledge regarding their transition to 100% electrified Bus fleet. The team from Minister’s office and DIMTS gave an overview of fleet electrification status in India and how currently India is at a stage of transitioning to a public transportation electrification. The team from India also suggested that Shenzhen Bus Group may consider participation in operation of Bus Fleets in India.
A detailed discussion was held with DIMTS after that wherein they gave a detailed overview on their diverse experience which was followed by visit to Operations and Control Centre and Raj Ghat Depot of DIMTS, wherein the delegation got an overview of the monitoring and operations of cluster buses of Delhi.The day ended with the delegation thanking the team of host lead by Mr C K Goyal on arranging a fruitful and insightful day for them.
The subsequent days that the delegation spent in India included experiencing public transportation such as Metro, buses, taxis and trains in Delhi and Mumbai.
